Norwalk La Mirada District needed a robust LMS that let students turn in digital assignments and consolidated grades from multiple systems into PowerSchool SIS. They were also looking for a product that brought students, teachers, and parents together with one view of performance.
The district tested every top system. “Teachers didn’t want ‘one more thing to manage.’ So we chose Schoology because it worked best for our teachers and students,” Tim says. “They wanted a powerful LMS where they could upload assignments, lessons, and resources into an online platform, and then let students engage with the content. They wanted to be able to easily grade items and automatically sync with the PowerSchool SIS gradebook.”
“Teachers loved it,” Tim says. “Schoology integrated with PowerSchool and has become our sole hub for teacher-student-parent interaction.” As a result of the district’s use of Schoology and other successful edtech initiatives, they’ve won 2 California “Golden Bell” excellence in education awards.
