With seven out of 10 districts unable to track the effectiveness of distance learning programs1, there’s lots of work that must be done before you can welcome back students for the 2020-21 school year. Due to what’s being called the “COVID-19 slide,” some students may return having completed only half their grade-level goals in math and less than three fourths of their goals in reading2.

Montgomery County Public Schools is actively building a framework to address their students’ learning gap from school closures. Using PowerSchool Performance Matters, they are building reports using existing data to gain insights that will allow them to adjust their curriculum plans as well as formatively assess student progress throughout the year—getting learning back on track.
